Foamex® is a type of plastic produced in Switzerland. It is made by a Swiss company called 3A Composites, based in a small settlement between Lucerne and Zurich, which patented the Foamex® rigid foam panels 30 years ago.
What is better Foamex or Correx?
Foamex is a superior quality, extremely versatile PVC foam sheet, whereas correx is a tough, durable and impact resistant corrugated polypropylene board. Both are waterproof, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
What is the difference between Foamex and foam board?
Is Foamex the same as Foam board? Yes, Foamex is a brand name, for PVC foam board also called Foam board, Foamalite and Forex. However, it is not to be confused with foam core or kappa board, which are made as a sandwich of paper with a lightweight foam centre for lightweight internal use only.
How long does Foamex last outside?

Is Foamex a brand name?
Foamex is the brand name of a particular type of PVC foam sheet, often called Forex, Foamalite, or Palite. The “Foam” part of the name can be a bit misleading, as there is nothing soft or “foamy” about Foamex.

What is Corriboard?

Can you paint on Correx?
Like most plastics, most paints don’t adhere well to Correx. However, specialist primers can be used to ensure you get a good finish if you want to paint them.
Is Foamex board waterproof?
Yes, Foamex is Water Repellent / weatherproof and does not ingress moisture so it is ideal for external applications. It is warranted against UV fading for up to 7 years outdoors and 10 years indoors.
Is Foamex heavy?

Can Foamex get wet?
Foamex panels are resistant to rot and do not swell when they get wet; like wood does when faced with wet weather. Another advantage of Foamex is that it’s a recyclable, eco-friendly material.

What is the difference between dibond and Foamex signs?
Foamex signs are easy to drill and screw and so are easily fixed to wooden posts or batons. Dibond is a brand name commonly used for aluminium composite sheet or ACP, these can also be found under the name Dilite or Alucobond.
What is dibond composite sheet?
Aluminium Dibond composite sheet consists of a polyethylene core sandwiched between two sheets of aluminium. Dibond is very strong and efficient presenting weatherproof qualities – including wind. It’s long lasting and is ideal for both exterior and interior uses. It can easily be fixed to posts, drilled, riveted and nailed to walls.
What is the difference between Foamex and Correx?
Foamex might be the right choice for you. Foamex has a smooth, flat surface which enables us to print with excellent results. Whereas Correx’s fluted structure is visible on the surface even after full coverage printing. Foamex can withstand exposed positions for longer than the likes of Correx.
Is Foamex foam or vinyl?
Next up, Foamex which isn’t foamy at all. Foamex is a PVC foam sheet, with a foam core sandwiched between vinyl. Although referred to as ‘foam’ – it‘s actually effectively a solid plastic sheet. It’s dense, completely flat and has a smooth finish at a consistent thickness.
