Which version of NOOK do I have?
To verify you have the latest version of the NOOK Tablet software, tap Settings from the Quick Nav Bar, tap Device Info, then tap About Your NOOK® and check to see that your Software version is 1.4.
How do I know if my NOOK is a first edition?
If a 1 is present – in any sequence – it’s usually a sign that the book is a first edition. If a book reads something like 3 5 7 9 8 6 4, then your book is not part of the first printing (the example above indicates a third printing cycle).
Can you still use NOOK 1st Edition?

Can the battery in a NOOK be replaced?
All NOOK Devices sold by Barnes and Noble contain a Lithium-ion or Lithium-polymer battery. The rechargeable battery in the NOOK is not user replaceable, and is not sold as a replaceable accessory. We recommend that you charge your NOOK for at least 30 minutes before you use it the first time.
How do you update an old NOOK?
From your computer’s web browser navigate to Clicking Software Update on the specific NOOK you wish to update will take you to the update page for your device. Follow the instructions to download the update file. Click Get update Today and select the Click here link to begin your download.
How do you fix a Nook that won’t charge?
