Where is Northamptonshire Air Ambulance based?
Launched at Sywell Aerodrome, home of aircraft provider and project partner Sloane Helicopters Limited, the new machines will be based at their respective homes at East Midlands Airport for DLRAA and Coventry Airport for WNAA.
What does air ambulance collect?
In addition to clothing we take curtains, towels, handbags, belts, shoes in pairs, and bedding, apart from quilts and pillows. We do not collect bric a brac but will happily take books in a separate bag.
Where is East Midlands Air Ambulance based?
We operate from strategically located regional airbases at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, Strensham in Worcestershire and Tatenhill in Staffordshire. Each aircraft carries a crew comprising a pilot, two paramedics or a paramedic and flight doctor, plus full life-support medical equipment.
Does air ambulance collect toys?

Do air ambulance doctors get paid?
Much of the time, doctors are giving up their free time to join flights – and are not paid. But the result is that the service is fragmented and variable. Some services do not have doctors onboard but rely on critical care paramedics – committed and talented professionals but with fewer skills than emergency doctors.
Are air ambulance paid?
London’s Air Ambulance is a registered charity (number 801013) and the service is funded through charitable donations and corporate donors. The charity also runs a lottery for £1 a week to raise funds for the service, and holds a number of small and large scale fundraising events throughout the year.
Do nurses work on air ambulance?
London’s Air Ambulance is based at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. In addition, our teaching hospital status means that we have a higher proportion of doctors and nurses to patients than non-teaching hospitals.
