Where is the Dravanian Forelands?
Locations. The Dravanian Forelands lie west of Coerthas, and were unscathed by the extreme weather that afflicted the latter. A path leading to the Coerthas Western Highlands lies in the southeast.

Where are the Dravanian hinterlands?
Locations. The Dravanian Hinterlands lie far to the west of Coerthas and north of Vylbrand. This area is where Sharlayan built a colony, and was counted as among the city-states of Eorzea.
What are Aether currents?
Aether Currents are floating greenish swirls of air you can see tucked away in areas of each zone. Each area has 10 floating around, with five more that you get for completing quests. To attune to the current, you need to approach it and interact with it.
How do you use the Aether compass?
Once you have the Aether Compass, slot it somewhere on your hotbar and click it. Activating the Compass will let you know where the nearest Aether Current is, and you can walk towards it and interact with it.

Why can’t I fly in Coerthas Western Highlands?
It’s worth noting that flying mounts won’t work in all areas of the game, rather just the locations specific to Heavensward such as Ishhgard and Coerthas Western Highlands. There are 15 currents in all of the Heavensward zones, and all of them must be attuned to before you can fly in that zone.
How does Aether work Ffxiv?
Aether is released from the body upon death and it disappears from the physical realm to mingle back into the aetherical sea from which all life begins. Only so much of it can cross over at a time, and any excess remains to form a glowing mist, crystals, or even ghostly apparitions.
