What are the most common chemotherapy regimens?
Two regimens are recommended by the NCI 1999 consensus: either weekly cisplatin at 40 mg/m2 for six doses or two cycles of cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil during days 1 through 5 and days 22 through 26 of radiation. The most commonly used regimen is cisplatin at a dose of 40 mg/m2 for 6 weeks during radiation treatment.

How Is This Treatment Given? Bortezomib is given under your skin using a small needle (subcutaneous or Subcut) or through an IV (injected into a vein). This is done at the hospital. You will have a blood test before each treatment cycle to make sure it is safe for you to get treatment.

How often is CyBorD given?
CyBorD is repeated every 28 days. This is known as one Cycle. Each cycle may be repeated up to 4 times, depending upon the stage of the disease. Duration of therapy may last up to 4 months, depending upon response, tolerability, and number of cycles prescribed.
