What is optical printing film?
Optical printing is a technique where the original and the raw stock films are not in contact with each other, but are separated by a lens system. The image of the original is focused on to the raw stock film printing aperture by a lens system between the two heads.
How do optical printers work?
In optical printing, the master film is projected through a lens to expose the raw stock. In continuous printing, the master film and the raw stock both run continuously. Continuous printing is usually contact printing but can be optical, through a projected slit.
