What is NBS paint additive?
Outlast® NBS 30™ Time-Released Insect Repellent Additive for Exterior Stains and Paints is designed for use with most exterior coatings. NBS 30 Insect Repellent will repel most ants, cockroaches, beetles, mites, spiders, fleas, ticks, silverfish, dirt daubers, wasps, ladybugs and Carpenter Bees.
How do you use NBS 30?
Comprised of a blend of botanical ingredients, Outlast NBS 30 repels insects naturally. Just add 3.2 ounces to any oil or latex exterior paint/stain or coating. When added to a coating the botanicals act in a time-release manner to repel insects from the surface of your wood for many seasons to come.
What can I put on my paint to keep bugs away?
Bug Juice stain/paint additive is a contact insecticide designed to kill flying and crawling insects. It can be used on both interior and exterior surfaces. Bug Juice is odorless and will affect neither the color nor the drying time of the coating with which it is mixed.
What kind of wood do bugs not like?
Woods that are natural insect repellents include redwood and cedar. They have oils that protect them from getting gnawed on, and they can be used for indoor projects. It’s best to choose heartwood grades when using these woods because they are the hardiest and have the highest concentrations of the oil.

When used with multiple coats of paint or stain, always mix NBS 30 with the last coat applied. Sheen, curing time and luster of the coating may be changed slightly and would be most noticeable in white paint. High gloss coatings are reduced to semi-gloss.
