Floriade: Reimagined – Canberra’s Celebration of Spring The boxes and pots, containing over 60,000 blooms, will brighten the city and supplement the 300,000 bulbs and annuals already planted by schools, community groups and organisations as part of Floriade Community.
What is the Floriade festival?
Floriade Festival is a marvelous fiesta that is dedicated to color blooming. In addition to the beautiful sights of the flowering bulbs, there are many different cultural events, attracting thousands of local visitors and tourists, to the event, that also known as “Australia’s Celebration of Spring”.

How old is Floriade?
Floriade started in 1988 as a massive one-off display of bulbs and annuals – flowers that are suited to Canberra’s extreme temperatures. It’s now the largest flower festival in the southern hemisphere.
Is Floriade free entry?
It showcases one million flowers in bloom throughout Canberra’s Commonwealth Park and entry is free. The event welcomes more than 400,000 local, interstate and international visitors each year.
How do I get to Floriade 2022?
Cable car. A ride in the cable car gives you a beautiful view over the Floriade park. Your entrance ticket includes a single ride in the cable car. You can get on the funicular at the south side of Floriade Park for an 850 metre ride to the north side of the park or you can make the trip in the opposite direction.
How much does it cost to go to Lake Burley Griffin?
Admission fees are adults $4, concessions $2 or families $10. Further east again is the National Carillon at King’s Park. This large bell tower was given to Australia by the British Government in 1970 to celebrate 50 years of Canberra and the 55 cast bells each weigh between seven kilograms and six tones.

We’re sorry to say that Floriade and Nightfest will not proceed in Commonwealth Park in 2021 due to ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks both in the ACT and in surrounding NSW.
When is florfloriade 2019?
Floriade is open daily from 14 September to 13 October 2019, 9.30am – 5.30pm, weather permitting. Last entry to the event is 30 minutes before closing.
What is Floriade community?
Floriade Community was introduced in 2020 as part of Floriade: Reimagined. Following the overwhelmingly positive community response, Floriade Community will return once again with an additional 300,000 bulbs and annuals distributed to 100 schools, community groups and organisations to plant in their local area for the community to enjoy.
What’s new at Floriade 2021?
Floriade NightFest will also return for four nights from Thursday 30 September to Sunday 3 October with live entertainment to be announced in the coming months.
