Depotting: the practice of removing a makeup product, such as eye shadow, blush, or lipstick, from its original container and placing it into a more practical package. Think about how many eyeshadow palettes you own or how many lipsticks you have that you don’t even know what color they are without opening it.

What is the point of Depotting eyeshadows?
Whether you still have some shadow left to use or you’ve completely run out, depotting eyeshadow lets you transfer new or barely used shades into their own palette. This way, you won’t have to carry around a full palette that’s actually partially empty. Depot your eyeshadow if…you want to create a custom palette.

Is it OK to melt lipstick in the microwave?
Continue removing lipstick from the bottom of the tube (there’s a ton hiding down there, you know), and add that to the container as well. Use either a hair dryer or your microwave to melt the product for about 45 seconds, then allow it to cool down. You can continue applying it with either a lip brush, or your finger.
