We’ve been making Ballymaloe Original Relish for over 30 years, using the original recipe of tomatoes, sultanas and a carefully picked blend of spices. It’s become not only a great relish for cheeses, cold meats and salads, but also a staple ingredient in many family recipes.

Ballymaloe Original Relish is Ireland’s favourite relish, a recipe developed by Myrtle in the 1940s from tomatoes grown on the family farm.
What is Ballymaloe relish made of?
Ballymaloe Pepper Relish combines tomatoes and red peppers with a background spiced heat. Using 100% natural ingredients, we’ve created a relish with all the taste of Ballymaloe and the added heat of jalapeños and some crushed chillies for good measure.

Where is Ballymaloe relish made?
This is the home of Ballymaloe Country Relish. We’re not in rolling fields and countryside but in a business park in Cork’s Little Island, which is where this €4 million business is run by Myrtle Allen’s daughter, Yasmin, and grand-daughter, Maxine. Yasmin has been making the relish for 25 years.

Our story began in the 1930s when Ivan Allen was growing tomatoes in his glasshouses in Shanagarry, Co. Cork.
