What is alloy 188?

What is alloy 188?

Alloy 188 is a cobalt base superalloy with a unique combination of high temperature strength and oxidation resistance, along with adequate ductility after prolonged exposure to the 1400-1600°F temperature range. Cobalt alloys have an inherent advantage over the nickel base grades in high temperature creep.

What is HS188?

Home » Alloy Grade / UNS: HS188. A nickel alloy that is oxidation resistance with high temperature strength. It has good ductility even when exposed to temperatures up to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit (870 degrees Celsius).

Is Haynes 188 magnetic?

Alloy 188 is non-magnetic. It has good high temperature strength up to 1800ºF (982°C) and good oxidation resistance up to 2100ºF (1149°C).

What is Hastelloy made of?

Hastelloy® (milled by Haynes) is a nickel-molybdenum alloy. There are many different grades of Hastelloy®, many of which are nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys. Each of these grades has been optimized for a specific purpose, but all of them are highly resistant to corrosion.

How hard is waspaloy?

Waspaloy has useful strength at temperatures up to 760-870°C (1400-1600°F), and good oxidation resistance in gas turbine engine atmospheres up to 870°C (1600°F). Short time hot tensile strength is inferior to RA718 at temperatures up to 730°C (1350°F).

What is waspaloy used for?

Waspaloy is used for gas turbine engine components that require considerable strength and corrosion resistance at high operating temperatures, including compressor and rotor discs, shafts, spacers, seals, rings and casings, and other miscellaneous engine hardware, aircraft assemblies and missile systems [30].

How do you weld Hastelloy?

HASTELLOY alloy X can be welded by metallic-arc, inert-gas-shielded arc, submerged-melt, and SIGMA methods. Hardness and tensile properties of welds made by these methods can be found on pages 6 and 11 respectively.
