Goserelin acetate implant is a newly approved depot formulation of a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist indicated for palliation of advanced prostate cancer. LHRH superagonists suppress gonadotropin release from the pituitary gland by causing down-regulation of receptors.

Goserelin is a hormonal therapy drug used to treat prostate cancer and sometimes breast cancer in men. If you have goserelin to treat prostate cancer you may have it with radiotherapy or surgery, or on its own. When goserelin is used to treat breast cancer in men, it is usually given with other hormonal therapy drugs.
