The Fosseys brand is being abandoned, with the 140 Fosseys stores to be renamed as Target Country outlets by the end of 2000. At its peak in the mid-1980s, Fosseys covered about 160 stores, but since it was folded into the Target division in 1996 some of its best stores have been transferred to other Coles Myer chains.
