What does MGP10 stand for?
Machine-graded pine MGP, MGP10 to MGP15: E.g. MGP10 indicates a minimum threshold for stiffness properties of 10,000 MPa. Most exotic plantation softwoods (Pinus species) are graded using this system.
What is mpg12?
As you may know already, MGP12 refers to machine-graded pine that can handle 12,000 MPa. So, you can guess it is a pretty sturdy type of pine. In fact, it is the second toughest in stress grade behind MGP15.
Can you use MGP10 outdoor?
MGP10 is for internal use only. Not treated. Not true, Hyne M10s and M10a are treated with LOSP treatment and can be used externally. These are generally more favourable than using an F7 CCA treated pine for the main reason of strength and they generally stay straighter.
What is MGP10 H2F?
It has been stress graded to an MGP10 standard to provide reliable strength, and envelope treated to a H2F degree to ward off borers and termites. Its H2F envelope treatment also protects against attacks from pests, insects, and termites.
Is F7 same as MGP10?
MGP10 has a higher stiffness grade while F7 has a slightly higher strength grade. Stiffness measures how much a beam will deflect for any given load and is related to density, fibre quality, moisture content and pine defects. MGP10 measures 10.0GPa (gigapaschals), while F7 measures lower, at 7.9GPa.
What is F5 and F7 timber?
Structural Timber F5 & F7 H3 protects against moderate decay, borers and termites and can be used for cladding, fascia, pergolas, decking, carports, balustrade, fencing, beams, joists, and bearers.
How long will H2 timber last outside?
Class 2. Class 2 durability timber has an average life expectancy outdoors, above-ground of 15 to 40 years, and in-ground of 15 to 25 years.
How many 90×45 are in a pack?
90 x 45 x 5.4 H2 Pine – PACK OF 96.
What is as3600?
AS 3600 2009 specifies minimum requirements for the design and construction of concrete building structures and members that contain reinforcing steel or tendons, or both. Known as the AS 3600 Concrete code, also sets out requirements for plain concrete and pedestal footings.
What is as1684?
AS 1684 Residential Timber Framed Construction is a four-part Australian Standard covering design criteria, building practices, tie-downs, bracing and span tables for timber framing members. It is also referred to as the Timber Framing Code.
Is MGP10 an H3?
It has been mechanically graded to an MGP10 standard and kiln dried (KD) for superior strength and stability. This timber has been treated with a light organic solvent preservative (LOSP) to a H3 degree so your project is protected against decay and termites.
