Should I take AP Physics or biology?
If you are going into the medical field, the AP Biology as a junior and physics (any level) as a senior would be the best sequence. You’re going to get plenty of biology of all stripes the minute you enter the pre-med curriculum in college. Physics is more “linear” and structured in the mathematical sense.
Which is harder AP Biology or AP Physics?
AP Science AP Bio is slightly harder than APES, but will look stronger on your transcript if you only plan on taking one science AP. As their names suggest, AP Physics 1: Algebra-Based and AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based, require an understanding of (you guessed it!) algebra in physics.
Can you take AP Bio instead of physics?
Especially with your goal of becoming a veterinarian, AP Biology and AP Environment Science could definitely replace AP Physics. Keep in mind that you would probably get better grades in these classes as well, since you’re more interested in the material.
Do colleges like to see AP Bio?
Junior year grades are of particular interest to colleges, both for GPA and rigor. Many high schools give weight to AP grades so that a B in AP Biology might be a 3.3 instead of a 3.0 on your transcript. Not only do APs boost your GPA, but they also show colleges that you are preparing for college-level work.
Can you take AP Bio and AP Physics at the same time?
Taking both AP Biology and AP Physics at the same time is a great way to challenge yourself while learning about the natural world. By adding both courses to your workload, you’ll better prepare yourself for a college education.
Should I take AP Bio and AP Physics at the same time?
You should take AP Biology and AP Physics together if you have room in your schedule and want to explore your interest and aptitude in the sciences. Many universities require core science classes and, depending on your major, having both biology and physics credits could be very helpful.
Should I take AP Biology as a senior?
If you don’t take this course as a junior, you may not be able to perform as highly on the exam. However, if no colleges you’re interested in require the SAT Science subject test, I’d recommend AP Lang as a junior and AP Bio as a senior.
Is AP Biology useful?
AP Biology has too much work Most of the work is preparing, conducting and analyzing interesting labs. Also, you are provided with a unit by unit agenda well in advance to help plan. You’ll have to work hard in AP, but by connecting coursework to what really matters to you right now, AP Bio makes work worthwhile.
Is AP Biology memorization?
AP Bio is NOT memorization. In fact, if you just try to memorize terms and concepts, you’ll have a much harder time keeping track of everything you need to know. Memorizing as a strategy is not ideal for any AP exam because it is way harder to answer the essays.
