Are XR5 Turbo P plate legal?
Under the new laws, P-platers will be allowed to drive V8-powered, turbocharged and supercharged vehicles built in or after 2010 if they have a power-to-weight ratio of no more than 130kW per tonne.
What Turbo is on a XR5?
It shares platform architecture with the Mazda3 and Volvo S40, which has allowed Ford to use Volvo’s 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine in the XR5. It produces 166kW of power at 6000rpm, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
