- Locate the diagnostic port under the dashboard.
- Plugin your BMW scan tool.
- Turn on the ignition but don’t start the engine.
- Select the BMW model and chassis after the scanner turns on.
- Select Auto Scan or Control Unit.
- Scroll down, select Read Codes, and press enter.
