Can you get your WSI online?
Step 1: Complete the WSI online course You will receive a separate email from the Red Cross with information to complete the online portion of the class. Please read the email carefully and follow the link in the email to complete the online portion before the classroom session.
How long is the WSI online course?
The Lifeguard Instructor online course will take approximately 2 hours to complete and the Water Safety Instructor online course will take approximately 8 hours to complete. Thank you and we look forward to meeting you soon!
How long does a WSI certification last?

Certification Issued Upon successful completion of the WSI class, participants will receive an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (WSI) valid for 2 years.
How much does WSI certification cost?
What is the WSI certification period and cost? After successfully completing the WSI class, participants will receive an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (WSI) valid for two (2) years. Taking the Water Safety Instructor certification course costs approximately $300, and you can register here.
How long is a lifeguard certification good for?
For example, industry has determined that a pool lifeguard certificate must be updated every 12 months by undertaking a reaccreditation course. Once the date of expiry has passed you will be unable to work and unable to take a reaccreditation course and will be required to enrol in a full course.
