Product development, acoustical technology research and the manufacture of flagship products still occurs on the original Tovil site in England.The speakers (from XQ on down) are manufactured in China.

The site is home to the manufacture of the Reference models and best premium Blade 2’s and statement Muon speakers. The Q and R series are made in China, in KEF’s own manufacturing facility there and no doubt for reasons of cost.

Is KEF Q good?
They are, quite honestly, the best KEF Q Series speakers ever made, blending clear, transparent vocal tones and room-pressurizing bass. They destroy the capabilities of the old iQ9 towers and should receive an honorary membership to the KEF R Series because they sound a lot more expensive than $1,800/pair.

What makes the Kef R100 so special?
So what’s what? The KEF R100 5.1 is made up of two pairs of R100 standmounters at the corners, a R200c centre channel and R400b subwoofer. The absence of floorstanders in the set-up will delight those with limited space, although it means the possibility of forking out roughly £200 per pair of stands.

Relatively tall (39cm) and deep (35cm), the three-way R300s are on the large side. Unsurprisingly, they are the biggest standmounts in KEF’s R range.
How good are the Kef q250 speakers?
Very good speaker, certainly punch well above their weight and for the price that PT is selling them for represent outstanding value. You could always buy R100s and wait for the Q250 to reach the dealers if you still want one for a centre, KEFs do tend to blend very well.
How good is the R200 speaker’s performance?
The R200’s measured performance shows excellent performance by almost any standard, easily going head-to-head with speakers two or three times its price. It isn’t flawless — few speakers are — but the R200 is a prime example of sensible design decisions to maximize sound quality at a reasonable price.
